I sat across my therapist distraught, pouring out my heart.
Somewhere in my mind maybe I harboured hopes of a ‘Magic Wand’ solution.
I talked. She listened. I began to feel validated and respected and as the session progressed her small act of listening kept becoming a greater gift.
The long emotional session drew to an end.
I heard the gentle voice of my therapist saying, “Do you feel heard?”
‘Do you feel heard’ was my ‘magic wand’ moment !
