Zoya had heard of PTSD, but was not sure how it applied to herself. Everything was a trigger. It could be a day where she started out fine, but then a random person on the road, or a rude doctor’s assistant, or even a crabby neighbour could set off insecurities, rage, and past issues would start to bubble up.
Her constant questions were, “Why? Why do these past negative thoughts keep surfacing, why does my mind not move on from these bad memories?”
PTSD is seemingly always rooted to a past traumatic event. But what could be trauma for one could be a fleeting event for another. These questions constantly weighed on Zoya. Her thoughts played havoc and drained her both mentally and physically.
People around her had a lot of advice from meditation to medication, but what was the solution to her unique issues?
Zoya slowly gained insight to what she was feeling and she was able to be kinder to herself as she progressed. She was on a surer path of letting go her past experience.
